Keep the Brownsville Air Traffic Control Tower Open
A series of devastating budget cuts known as the sequester are now in effect.
Americans across the country are feeling the consequences, from teachers to air traffic controllers to parents with kids in Head Start.
In a letter to our Brownsville SPI Airport from the FAA regarding the sequester stating: ”Your airport falls below stated criteria based on Fiscal Year 2012 traffic count, and therefore the tower is on the list of those for which we may cease providing funding [air traffic control services]. Negative impact on the national interest is the only criterion the FAA will use for deciding to continue services to an airport that falls below the activity threshold.”
