WHAT: Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) and H-E-B will host a Connects to Wellness event at Brownsville H-E-B No. 5. Other Connects to Wellness partners include the city of Brownsville and the University of Texas School of Public Health.

WHEN: Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHY: The rates of obesity and diabetes in our community are some of the highest in the country. BPUB Connects to Wellness is a collaborative event with the Brownsville Biggest Loser Challenge (BBLC).
This FREE event is one of several hosted by different event sponsors during the four-month 2013 Brownsville Biggest Loser Challenge contest that began Jan. 11.
BPUB Connects to Wellness participants will learn about: getting active, being more knowledgeable about prescriptions and making healthier meals. Those who attend all three activities can enter a raffle to win one of three prizes: a bicycle, a combination blender-food processor or a digital scale.
